How to invest
The simplest way to invest in the Aviva Investors Direct SMA is to download a copy of the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). Alternatively, you can contact our Client Services team on 1800 671 849 and request that a hard copy of the PDS is sent to your office.
Applications can be made by personal or bank cheque, direct credit or via BPAY®. If an investor chooses the BPAY® or direct credit option, once the application form has been received the investor will be will contacted with the necessary details to facilitate the application payment.
Once the application has been processed, the investor will receive notification of their account details, including a username and password if they have requested online access to their account.
In specie transfer
Investors can transfer shares that they own into their portfolio without the need to sell the shares. The transfer of shares is known as an ‘in specie’ transfer. Shares to be transferred into a portfolio may be issuer sponsored, broker sponsored or held by a custodian.
In specie transfers are unable to be completed until the information of the In Specie Transfer Form has been completed. If you require any details or further clarification of the information required to complete an in specie transfer, please contact our Client Services team on 1800 671 849.
Please note if the initial investment is via an in specie transfer, an investor’s portfolio will not be established until the transferring shares have been confirmed by us or our custodian. If a cash application (e.g. direct credit, BPay® or cheque application) accompanies an in specie application, the cash application will not be able to be processed until the shares being transferred have been confirmed by us or our custodian. We reserve the right not to accept certain shares in relation to an in specie transfer.
